Steps:

1. Just open your excel file. In this article, let’s suppose the document be Rainfall 2010. As you can see it is now in excel document. Now we will convert it to word document.

2. Open MS Word. And in the upper left corner just select paste special as shown in the image below. Remember after pasting it ‘Don’t close Excel’

3. After selecting paste special a dialog box will appear asking you two questions i.e. a.what kind of object do you want to paste? b. how do you want to paste this Chart? In this select paste link. And in that select Microsoft excel document.

4. Now open the excel document and Edit the Data. Go to the rainfall spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel. Select Cell G2. Type the number: 10. And press Enter key.

5. As you will now see the data in excel is updated and also in MS word retaining table properties.
